Can Goji Berries Help Prevent AMD?

Researchers at the University of California have found that frequently eating a small serving of dried goji berries may help avoid or postpone the development of AMD.

During a trial with 13 healthy participants, goji berries were eaten five times a week for 90 days and the results had shown signs of increased density of protective pigments in their eyes.

The authors of the trial suggest that the middle-aged population should have a steady intake of goji berries as it increases macular pigment density which in turn may help prevent or delay the development of AMD.
